i have 3 questions, why everest cannot detect mac address for wifi network card and cannot display it on everest console?. Second question is does everest has drivers information database for itself (like in windows drivers database) to detect hardware components?what if there is new hardware in the market, will everest detect them?

1) Which MAC address do you mean? Primary or the generic MAC address available per adapter?

2) EVEREST uses its own databases (that currently has over 39000 entries) for hardware identification. Whenever a new or unknown hardware component is detected, EVEREST Windows drivers or Registry information.

hi, thx for your reply, what i mean with MAC Address are assume i have 2 or 3 adapter on my computer (2 NICs and 1 Wireless network card), will everest detect them?yes, i mean per adapter not just primary and display them on summary also. About everest database you mention above, can in update it manually?. Actually i'm glad if everest provide for automatically update, not just the software but for database also...wink.gif

EVEREST is supposed to detect MAC address per adapter for all adapters.

You don't need to (and actually you can not) update EVEREST databases. They get updated at each new release of EVEREST.

Do i have to connect all adapters to the network and get IP address so everest detect mac address or not?because i already test connect only one of them to the network but mac address for other adapters not detected eventhough other adapters in enable/active condition. Is there something wrong with my everest?

I've just tested EVEREST on a notebook with 3 different network adapters: one BT, one 10/100 LAN and one WLAN. None of the adapters were connected, but on the Network / Windows Network page of EVEREST all MAC addresses were correctly detected and displayed.

Hi,

thx for your reply, i'm sorry i forgot to tell you that what i mean is I get mac address from the network, i install everest corporate on a server on my network and create a custom report using report wizard, i make "full" tick on Network options (not a gray one), and i run everest script on workstations (I don't install everest on every workstation, but I run everest from the network) but when i look in everest audit manager there only display mac address for active/connected adapter, the other adapters that are not connected to the network mac address are not display, but just display the name of the adapter. Do you have any solution on this?. Thx for your help.

EVEREST Corporate Edition offers its customers a flexible way to collect hardware and software assets information into SQL Database or CSV files and produce a complete network audit based on the collected information. I use this nay problem you can ask me
